The Lapmaster Cylindrical Lapping machine is used to produce very accurate cylindrical surfaces on a large variety of components including Dowels, Rods and Roller bearings. Cylindrical lapping is a batch mode, loose abrasive machining process by which small amounts of material are removed from the OD of the work piece (about 0.01mm max), typically after an OD grinding operation. This process is designed to improve roundness and surface finish.
The Lapmaster line of dual face lapping/polishing machines are based upon a 2 way planetary concept designed to yield very precise and repeatable results at an economical price.
An Eccentric drive has been designed to create a type of elliptical motion by offsetting the centre hub, which will give the carrier plate an oscillation. The eccentric drive is adjustable, to allow components with larger lands to see more of the plate so it will not track therefore providing higher accuracies.
The machine structure comprises of a heavy duty steel base which carries the main drive components and the drive motors.
The machine is fully guarded and electrically interlocked and complies with the latest CE regulations.
Maximum part length, 84mm. Maximum part diameter, 12.7mm. Minimum part diameter, 1mm.
